A tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj has left a family devastated after a young man was killed in a road accident and his father died of a heart attack upon hearing the news of his son’s death.
The incident took place in Soraon area in Prayagraj. The deaths of the father and son within a few hours of each other left the village in mourning, with their funeral processions being taken out together on Sunday.

According to information available, Shivam Yadav alias Sonu was travelling on his motorcycle from Kalandarpur towards Soraon. When he reached a place called Madhopur Sanghan Ganj, a speeding Maruti car coming from the Soraon side collided head-on with his motorcycle.
The collision was severe, leaving Shivam critically injured. He was taken to a private hospital in Prayagraj with the help of local residents and police. However, he died during treatment.
FATHER COLLAPSES AFTER HEARING OF SON’S DEATH
As news of Shivam’s death reached his family, his father, Ram Singh, suffered a major shock. He suddenly became unconscious and collapsed.
His family members rushed him to a private hospital in Shantipuram. However, doctors declared him dead after examination.
Soraon police station in-charge Deendayal Singh said Ram Singh died of a heart attack after learning about his son’s death.
The deaths of the father and son within a short span of time plunged the family and the village into grief.
DRIVER FLEES, CAR SEIZED
Meanwhile, the driver of the car fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle following the accident.
Police reached the location, seized the damaged car and began an investigation. Soraon police station in-charge Deendayal Singh said the driver was being traced on the basis of the vehicle’s registration number.
Police said a case had been registered under relevant sections on the basis of a complaint filed by the family, and further legal action was underway.
On Sunday, the funeral processions of Ram Singh and his son Shivam were taken out together. The sight left the entire village mourning, as two members of the same family were cremated following their deaths just hours apart.
