Fremantle’s Nathan O’Driscoll has heaped praise on cult hero Pat Voss, revealing his antics are firing the Dockers to grand new heights.

The Dockers broke new ground in Bunbury as they demolished North Melbourne by 124 points in what is the club’s biggest ever win.

Front and centre to the performance was Pat Voss, who finished with 4.4 and set the tone for what would become a merciless display.

He played most of the first quarter with his jumper ripped in half after taking the first opportunity to land a big bump in a contest with Harry Sheezel, and though he gave away a free, it was an ominous sign of what was to come.

O’Driscoll said every Docker gets a lift from playing with the enigmatic full forward.

“I love playing with Voss, he just gets me jacked up and gets the crowd going as well,” he said post-game.

“He’s a massive barometer for us, and when he’s up and about and going, it just brings the whole team along.”

The one knock on Fremantle’s game this season has been their inability to put teams away, something which Justin Longmuir referenced in his half-time speech to his team, urging them to put the Roos to the sword.

Once again, it was Voss who ensured the Dockers kept up their intensity with a huge fend-off of Griffin Logue in the fourth quarter, which sent him tumbling to the turf.

Still with the ball in hand, Voss gave his defeated opponent a stern look before having a shot on goal.

“I know Griff pretty well, and we were back and forth all day, so it was good to get one on him,” he said post-game.

“I don’t think opposition fans like me too much. I’ve been copping it a little bit.

“But I’m just super pumped to be playing in this team, the physicality side of it I like to dive into it, and it gets me into the game.”

“I’m really proud of the boys I think that was our closest performance to playing a full 120 minutes, and the atmosphere today has been unbelievable.”
