Aditya Arepalli, a BTech graduate from IIIT Dharwad, moved to the US to pursue a master’s in Artificial Intelligence after working as a software engineer at Riverbed Technology. He now works as a software engineer at Amazon Web Services in Seattle.
A decision to leave a job in Bengaluru and pursue a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence has helped Sai Venkata Aditya Arepalli take a significant step forward in his technology career.

According to a post shared on X by user Vikas Alwys, Arepalli, who completed his BTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad in 2022, secured a job at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Seattle, US, with a reported package of 1.5 crore.
FROM IIIT DHARWAD TO RIVERBED TECHNOLOGY
Arepalli completed his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science at IIIT Dharwad between August 2018 and June 2022. His LinkedIn profile lists his grade as 8.12.
After graduating in 2022, he joined Riverbed Technology in Bengaluru as a software engineer.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Arepalli worked at Riverbed Technology from July 2022 to June 2023, spending around a year in the role. The Twitter post says he initially received a package of 13 lakh per annum.
His first job gave him experience as he began his career in the technology sector.
WHY HE CHOSE A MASTER’S IN AI
The X post says Arepalli quit his job as AI was rapidly changing the technology landscape. He moved to the US to pursue an MS in Artificial Intelligence at the University at Buffalo, completing the programme from August 2023 to February 2025 with a 3.6 grade.
During his master’s, Arepalli focused on certifications, coding and building products. His efforts helped him secure a software engineering role at Amazon Web Services after graduation.
Arepalli joined AWS as a software engineer in March 2025 and is based in Seattle. His LinkedIn profile lists the role as full-time and on-site. The X post claims he received a 1.5 crore job offer.
HIS FATHER’S REACTION
According to the X post, Arepalli’s father is a photographer who worked hard to provide his children with a good education. He said he had done everything he could for his children and that his son is now taking responsibility for him.
From IIIT Dharwad and Riverbed Technology to an AI master’s in the US and a role at AWS, Arepalli has built his career across India and the US.
