Hyundai Motor India has introduced an assured buyback program for the Hyundai Creta Electric, offering customers 60 per cent assured buyback value for up to three years or 45,000km, in a move aimed at addressing one of the biggest concerns surrounding electric vehicle ownership, resale value.
The new scheme is available for the Creta Electric and is designed to strengthen buyer confidence as EV adoption gains momentum in India. By guaranteeing a minimum residual value, Hyundai hopes to reduce uncertainty around long-term ownership costs while making the transition to electric mobility more appealing.

Hyundai doubles down on EV ownership ecosystem
The assured buyback scheme becomes the latest addition to Hyundai’s expanding EV ecosystem in India. Earlier this year, the company introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for the Creta Electric, allowing customers to purchase the SUV at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (excluding battery) while opting for battery usage on a subscription basis. Battery rental charges start at Rs 3.9 per kilometre, significantly lowering the vehicle’s upfront cost.
Hyundai says the buyback program complements its broader strategy of offering flexible ownership solutions, expanding charging infrastructure and connected services to improve the overall EV ownership experience.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Key specifications
Built on the Creta nameplate, the electric SUV is offered with two battery pack options:
- 51.4kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 510km
- 42kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 420km
The Creta Electric supports DC fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 39 minutes under suitable conditions.
Other highlights include:
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality
- Digital Key
- Level 2 ADAS (Hyundai SmartSense)
- Side foot step
- 0-100kmph acceleration in 7.9 seconds for the long-range variant
Charging network expansion
Hyundai is also continuing to invest in charging infrastructure. Through the myHyundai app, customers can access more than 30,000 charging points across the country.
The company currently operates 183 DC fast charging stations across 105 cities and plans to increase this network to 600 DC fast chargers by 2030, covering major cities, highways and Hyundai dealerships.
With the introduction of the assured buyback program, Hyundai is looking to remove another barrier to EV adoption by offering customers greater financial certainty while strengthening the long-term ownership proposition of the Creta Electric.
