The Border Security Force (BSF) rescued 10 Bangladeshi nationals, including an infant, after their boat capsized in the Padma River in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district.
The incident took place after high waves and strong currents caused the boat to overturn. The passengers, all residents of Bangladesh’s Chapainawabganj district, were swept away by the fierce river currents but managed to swim towards safety.

BSF personnel spotted the stranded group and immediately launched a rescue operation. A speed boat was deployed from the Taranagar area in Lalgola to reach the survivors and bring them safely ashore.
Following the rescue, all 10 people were taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation and primary treatment. After their condition stabilised, the BSF coordinated their safe repatriation to Bangladesh.
