Iran’s Ambassador to India, Dr Mohammad Fathali, has expressed gratitude to the people of India for their support and solidarity during what he described as a period of national tragedy for Iran.
Speaking in New Delhi, Fathali said Indians from all communities stood by Iran as the country mourned the loss of two of its leaders. He noted that people across India extended their condolences, shared in the grief of the Iranian people and offered heartfelt sympathy during the difficult period.

“During this severe period of crisis, at a time when we are mourning the loss of not just one, but two of our leaders, the people of this entire country stood by us. They stood shoulder to shoulder with us, expressing their deep sympathy and offering their condolences,” Fathali told ANI news agency.
The ambassador thanked the citizens of India regardless of their religious affiliation, saying their support reflected the strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
He added that Iran deeply appreciated the compassion shown by the Indian people and extended heartfelt gratitude for their solidarity during the time of mourning.
