A Jharkhand woman ran 1,600 metres barefoot in a saree as she chased her dream of becoming a home guard. A video of her recruitment test has garnered a whole lot of love on social media.
Kavita Mahato, who works at a brick kiln, participated in the Jharkhand Home Guard recruitment physical test.
Several viewers applauded her determination to pursue her dream despite the challenges she faced.

Meanwhile, Deepa Manjhi, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) MLA from Bihar’s Imamganj also congratulated Mahato.
Manjhi said women have the ability to take on every task with dedication and called on the Jharkhand government to encourage and honour women like Mahato.
She also said that while women today wear a variety of outfits, Mahato being comfortable enough in a saree to complete such a demanding physical test made her achievement particularly noteworthy.
Deepa Manjhi wished Kavita Mahato success in fulfilling her dream and said she should be recognised for her determination.
