English singer and former LMFAO collaborator Lauren Bennett reportedly died weeks before her passing was made public on Monday night.
The musician’s death was revealed by Bennett’s former girl group G.R.L., with members Emmalyn Estrada, Paula Van Oppen, and Natasha Slayton declaring their “hearts are broken”.
According to coroner records obtained by USA Today, the singer died in England on May 29 at the age of 36, weeks before what would have been her 37th birthday on June 29.
Bennett’s cause of death remains unknown, with an inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death scheduled for October.
Members of G.R.L. had earlier dealt with the loss of American singer Simone Battle in 2014, months after the group released smash hit Ugly Heart.
“It is great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” G.R.L. shared to social media.
“Our heart are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.
“Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.”

G.R.L. were last active in 2021.
One of Bennett’s most high profile music credits was a singer on electronic duo LMFAO’s 2011 hit Party Rock Anthem.
She had also worked with CeeLo Green, Lil Jon, Eve, The Pussycat Dolls, and was a member of Paradiso Girls which formed in 2007 before disbanding in 2010.
