Murphy might be shelved for the regular season finale
It’ll be interesting to see how Fremantle adjusts its line-up for round 24 if tonight’s match results in a win.
Reports suggesting that Murphy Reid, who misses this week due to a groin issue, could sit out next week as well when the Dockers take on the Blues.

What is happening with concussion gate?
ABC ‘s David Mark wrote a really concerning story during the week about ‘cumulative damage’ being a major component of CTE not necessarily concussions per se. I’m really surprised it hasn’t got more attention. The expert quoted is talking about it starting in juniors and that ‘informed consent’ and ‘waivers’ may be the only way forward. Good luck getting parents on board .There has also been no real attempt to find out why the Geelong player has not been selected to play. If it is his choice then fine and I wish him the very best but if it is because insurers have refused to cover him or the medicos have said ‘no waiver – no play’ then we are at crisis point’ I’d have expected big coverage of both stories but it doesn’t seem to be happening.

Is tonight’s clash the Tony Modra cup?
For those of you who are old enough to remember, Tony Modra was a generational full forward in his day.
Modra’s best years were for the Crows, where he kicked 440 goals in just 118 games between 1992 and 1998.
He was past his prime once he joined Freo in 1999 but still wound up kicking 148 goals in just 47 appearances before retiring at the end of 2001.

He’s been an unbelievable pick-up for the Dockers after being drafted 66th overall in 2016 at a 20-year-old.

Longmuir on last week’s thrilling loss to Melbourne
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir is addressing last week’s loss to the Dees.
“We didn’t defend the ground well enough, particularly behind the ball, our contest was really poor.
“The most disappointing thing was when we got a solid lead, we let them back in.
“There were some good lessons to come out of a close game, especially a close loss where we lacked some composure in the last five minutes.
“We haven’t played a lot of close games.”
