Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad criticised the security and law-and-order situation in Mumbai following the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff. Referring to previous incidents, including gunfire outside Salman Khan’s residence, the killing of Baba Siddique and shots fired outside Rohit Shetty’s home, Gaikwad questioned the safety of ordinary citizens if prominent personalities were also at risk.
She also said Maharashtra needed a dedicated Home Minister, arguing that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was burdened with too many portfolios. Gaikwad called for greater independence for the police and urged the government to end political pressure on the force from the Home Department.
