Following the firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu on Sunday, overseas-based operatives Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi group, asserted responsibility for the attack in a social media post while issuing fresh threats against individuals working with actor Salman Khan.
In the translated English statement, the operatives claimed that Tiger was targeted for failing to heed prior warnings. “Regarding the incident with Tiger Shroff today, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu take responsibility. We had called and warned him earlier, but he failed to understand, so today we made him understand properly (sic),” the post read.
The statement went on to issue a direct threat to the wider Hindi film industry, adding, “Whoever in the Mumbai film industry does not listen to us or works with Salman Khan, they will be next. Wait and watch (sic).” The post also issued warnings directed at rival groups attempting to claim credit for the incident.
Law enforcement authorities and security agencies are currently verifying the authenticity of the social media post. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have deployed 12 specialised teams to analyse CCTV footage, trace the perpetrators, and investigate the sequence of events.
The feud between jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and actor Salman Khan stems from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community holds the blackbuck sacred, and Lawrence Bishnoi issued his first public death threat against Khan in 2018, demanding an apology for allegedly disrespecting community sentiments.
The threat matrix escalated significantly following targeted attacks Salman’s inner circle, including the murder of politician Baba Siddique and shots fired at the actor’s Bandra residence in 2024. The syndicate has since expanded its warnings across the Mumbai film industry, issuing extortion demands and threats to anyone maintaining personal or professional ties with the actor.
