American NFL reporter Grant Cohn is taking social media by storm since arriving on Aussie shores.
The San Francisco 49ers beat reporter is Down Under for the NFL Melbourne Game and has been documenting himself exploring the city and everything it has to offer.

Since discovering the AFL just days ago, Cohn says he’s become “hooked” on Australian Rules football, so much so that he’s already offering hot takes on his X account.
The outspoken reporter gave some snap thoughts on the Brisbane Lions after their shock loss to Sydney last Saturday, criticising Will and Levi Ashcroft, as well as Lachie Neale, whose name he pronounced “La-shay” Neale.
But Cohn has saved his hottest take for Western Bulldogs skipper Marcus Bontempelli, apparently not rating the premiership superstar in the same way everyone else does.
And while one week’s worth of research clearly isn’t enough to be informed about our game, there’s little doubt Cohn is clever enough to know what he’s doing.
After appearing on breakfast TV on Tuesday morning, the American trolled Bontempelli by feigning outrage at how ‘poor’ he was during the Bulldogs’ elimination final loss to Adelaide.
For the record, Bontempelli collected 27 disposals and was one of the Dogs’ best yet again, despite the defeat.
“They just asked me all the things I like about Australia,” Cohn said of his TV interview.
“You know what they didn’t ask? What I don’t like about Australia. If they had, I would have said Marcus Bontempelli.
“I mean, ever since I’ve got to Australia, all I hear is ‘Bontempelli this, Bontempelli that. Watch out for the Bont. The Bont’s the GOAT. Does it get any better than Marcus Bontempelli?’
“Well, hey, maybe that was true in the past, but since I’ve been here, I watched him play. I watched him play Adelaide.
“What’d he do? What’d he do against Adelaide? He lost. Kicked one, had one shot. I don’t know what you call that. A behind? It was a behind. It wasn’t even through the uprights. It was through the other uprights.
“And I’m supposed to be impressed by the Bont? Hey, you want to be called the Bont? Why don’t you beat Adelaide? You know what I mean?
“You want to be in the same breath as Tom Papley and Patrick Dangerfield, Bailey Smith? Do something when it counts.
“Oh, oh, you’re a regular-season champ? I want to see who shows up in the finals. And you know who didn’t? The Bont. OK?
“It seems to me that he’s essentially the Justin Herbert of AFL players. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, look it up, Aussies. I’m not impressed.”
Justin Herbet is the quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers and divides opinion in the US given his clear physical talent and ability, but lack of playoff victories.
Herbert is 0-3 in NFL playoff matches. And yes, Bontempelli’s Bulldogs have lost six elimination finals in 12 years — but once again, for the record, he has also won a premiership and reached a second grand final.
Cohn is a self-described “troll” though, regularly criticising star players back home in the US, and has taken his schtick down to Australia.
