Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that the Brezza has crossed the 15 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India, marking a significant achievement for the compact SUV. The milestone comes nearly a decade after the model’s introduction and follows the launch of the updated Brezza in July 2026, which has already received over 1 lakh bookings.
The Brezza has established a strong presence in India’s compact SUV segment, backed by its SUV-inspired styling, multiple powertrain options and a wide customer base. According to Maruti Suzuki, 56% of prospective buyers consider the Brezza even before beginning their vehicle purchase journey, highlighting the model’s established brand recall. The company also claims that the Brezza is India’s highest-selling compact SUV, based on sales volumes between February 2015 and May 2026, as certified by JATO Dynamics Limited.

Launched on July 25, 2026, the updated Brezza retains its familiar overall silhouette but receives several styling revisions. The front end features a redesigned grille, a reworked bumper with dark chrome detailing and a revised faux skid plate. The LED projector headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lamps have been retained, while the fog lamps now sit in newly designed triangular housings.
Along the sides, the SUV gets fresh dual-tone body cladding and redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear design remains largely unchanged, with the existing tail-lamp arrangement and bumper carried over. Maruti Suzuki has also introduced two new exterior shades, Vivacious Orange and Lustrous Beige, both available with a contrasting black roof.
The turbo-petrol variants receive exclusive cosmetic enhancements, including a ‘Turbo’ badge on the tailgate, ‘Turbo Boosterjet’ decals on the rear quarter glass and red accents on the grille, wheel arches and skid plates.
Inside, the Brezza continues with its dual-tone black and brown cabin layout but features updated trim and upholstery. Gloss-black inserts replace the earlier silver elements, while the leatherette seats receive a revised pattern. The SUV also gets updated HVAC controls borrowed from the Victoris.
Feature additions include a larger 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the previous 9-inch unit, with built-in navigation and Alexa connectivity. Other highlights include 64-colour ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, an air purifier and an actively cooled wireless smartphone charger.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Engine and gearbox options
The updated Brezza’s biggest mechanical addition is the 1.0-litre Boosterjet direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. It produces 110bhp and 170Nm of torque and is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox, offering buyers a more performance-focused alternative to the naturally aspirated petrol engine.
The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues to develop 103bhp and 139Nm. It is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The lineup also includes a factory-fitted S-CNG option. Unlike conventional CNG installations that occupy a significant portion of the luggage compartment, the Brezza S-CNG features an underbody-mounted cylinder, allowing it to retain usable boot space.
In terms of safety, the updated Brezza carries a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating and comes with a host of safety features.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza: A decade of compact SUV success
Crossing 15 lakh cumulative sales underscores the Brezza’s sustained appeal in one of India’s most competitive vehicle segments. The latest update expands its appeal through additional features, refreshed styling and a wider choice of powertrains, including the new Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine.
With over 1 lakh bookings reported for the updated model, Maruti Suzuki will look to build on the Brezza’s established market position as it continues to strengthen its SUV portfolio in India.
