Meghan Markle is reportedly cracking down on gossip with a bold new move.
Following the relocation to the UK with her husband and two children, Archie and Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex is apparently putting a plan in motion to ensure conversations with guests do not leave the dinner table.
A source told Naughty But Nice’s Rob Shuter that Meghan was requesting non-disclosure agreements be signed before accepting dinner invitations.
“Meghan is deadly serious,” they said.
“If there’s any chance private or royal matters will be discussed, she wants an NDA in place before she even says yes.
“No signature, no Meghan.”
It comes after Martha Stewart took a brutal swipe at the royals in August after the Duchess allegedly gossiped about her family’s secret reunion with King Charles.
Speaking to People magazine at the time, Stewart said Meghan had spoken about the royal visit at a California dinner party.
“I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace,” she told the outlet.
“I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it,” Stewart added.
But the 85-year-old, who built her reputation as a leading figure in cooking, entertaining and home living, appeared less convinced about Meghan’s transition from actress to royal figure and now lifestyle personality.
Asked about Meghan launching her own cooking and lifestyle brand, including her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, Stewart questioned whether the career shift made sense.
“If you’re an actress, it’s hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show,” she added.
“It doesn’t sort of follow. So go from there.”
Naughty But Nice reported that Meghan’s new plan to make guests sign NDAs likely would not go down well in British circles.
“This might be normal around Hollywood celebrities, but asking British friends to sign legal paperwork before dinner is going to raise eyebrows,” an insider told the outlet.
“People want a glass of wine and a laugh — not a contract.
“Harry needs old friends around him.
“Start handing those friends NDAs before dinner and they will decide to eat somewhere else.”
