Mindy Kaling has set the record straight amid swirling rumours that she had signed up for a new Victoria’s Secret campaign.
The speculation began after the lingerie company released a new ad, which showed a woman in a black lingerie and stockings laying on a bed.
The model looked strikingly similar to The Office star Mindy, causing her to take to her Instagram Stories to hove her say.
Sharing a snap of the advert in question, Mindy wrote: “This is not me! I wish!”
Mindy added: “I could not fill out lingerie like this! But I admire this woman.”
The 47-year-old has faced criticism in recent months after shedding an extraordinary amount of weight.
She recently shared some images of the “fun” few weeks she’s been having, but found the comments of the Instagram post filled with comments criticising her for being too thin.
One wrote: “Oh Mindy, I’m starting to worry. You’re beginning to look as tiny as Ariana Grande and this isn’t good.
“Please know I’m saying this out of deep concern for your wellbeing. I do hope you can seek professional help. Never forget you’re a valuable and extremely gifted person no matter what size you are.”
As another added: “I honestly think Mindy ( Ariana) looked better 10-15 lbs ago ! There is such a thing as way too skinny. Especially when they both looked amazing a couple years ago – no need to mess with perfection!”
While a third commented: “I remember in your book how you talked about your body, and I loved that authenticity. But now I feel like you sold out…”
And another wrote: “You may be skinny but your face in the pics reveals you’re not happy, and likely not healthy. Please don’t succumb to the pressure put on women in the public eye to be thin at any cost.”
However, others defended Mindy, with one writing: “If people are overweight everyone comments about how it’s not healthy, but if they lose weight they’re chastised. How about minding your business?”
As another added: “My god you are slayyyiinggg!”
