Mirzapur: The Movie, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Ravi Kishan, has opened strongly at the domestic box office. The film, which marks the popular web series’ transition to the big screen, collected an estimated Rs 24.75 crore nett in India on Day 1, according to early estimates by trade website Sacnilk.
With its opening-day collection, Mirzapur: The Movie has secured the fourth-highest opening among Hindi films released in 2026, according to the report.

The film earned an estimated Rs 24.60 crore nett from its Hindi version, while the Telugu version contributed around Rs 15 lakh. Its India nett currently stands at approximately Rs 24.75 crore, while the estimated gross collection has crossed Rs 29.70 crore.
The film recorded an overall occupancy of 42.81 per cent across 11,135 shows on its opening day. Morning shows started slower, with around 25 per cent occupancy, but the film picked up pace as the day progressed.
By the night shows, occupancy had climbed to approximately 62 per cent. The film has been granted an ‘A’ certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The opening puts Mirzapur: The Movie ahead of Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2, which opened at Rs 22 crore nett at the Hindi box office last month.
However, the film fell slightly short of the Rs 30 crore opening that placed Border 2 in the third spot. Toxic and Dhurandhar The Revenge occupy the top two positions with opening-day collections of Rs 55 crore and Rs 99 crore, respectively.
With an estimated Rs 24.75 crore nett on Day 1, Mirzapur: The Movie has now secured the fourth spot among the highest opening-day grossers of 2026.
IndiaToday.in’s review of the film reads, “It is a film made with obvious love for the world, its characters and, most importantly, its fans. And that love is visible in every little moment. But somewhere between trying to give every character a moment and every relationship a backstory, the film becomes a little too indulgent. Mirzapur does feel exactly like the chaotic, pulpy ride you signed up for. Maybe you can just take along a little extra patience when you head to the theatres.”
The film released in theatres on September 4.
