A 16-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh who went missing after leaving home has been traced in Mumbai after travelling nearly 900 kilometres in the hope of landing an acting role in the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
The teenager was found wandering alone in Film City in Goregaon by police personnel, who brought him to Aarey Police Station for questioning after receiving information about his presence in the area.

During questioning, the boy revealed that he is a resident of Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh and had come to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He told police that he specifically wanted an opportunity to act in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
According to police, the teenager left home on Thursday afternoon on the pretext of going to school. Instead, he went to Chhindwara railway station, boarded a train to Nagpur and then took a connecting train to Mumbai. He arrived at Goregaon railway station the next morning and walked to Film City.
After being contacted by Mumbai Police, the boy’s father confirmed that his son had been missing since Thursday.
The teenager is currently safe in the custody of Aarey Police, while his father is travelling to Mumbai to take him home.
