A dhaba in Haryana’s Murthal, known for its popular roadside eateries, went viral after a robot waiter served food to customers.
The unusual addition brought a tech twist to the traditional dhaba experience, with customers pulling out their phones to record videos and take selfies with the robot.
At Resham Dhaba, the robot delivered food directly to customers’ tables after orders were prepared. The food tray was placed on the robot, which then used its navigation system to follow a designated route and reach the customer’s table on its own.

The robot was operated using a software chip and remote control. Its exterior was made of fibre and featured LED lights in its eyes, including glowing red lights that gave it a distinctive appearance.
Once fully charged, the robot can provide service for around two hours. Customers did not have to pay any additional amount to have their food served by the robot.
Hotel manager Sanjay said the robot was developed by a team from Bengaluru. He said the idea was to give people visiting Murthal an opportunity to experience new technology alongside the area’s popular food.
A separate team was assigned to control and operate the robot and used a remote when required. Sanjay said the robot generated considerable excitement among customers, particularly children, who often took videos and selfies of it.
