A man is dead and his neighbour faces a murder charge after a row about noise late at night turned violent.
Emergency services were called to an apartment block in Ermington, west of Sydney, about 1am on Friday after reports a 41-year-old man had been assaulted, police said.
The man was allegedly punched several times by his 30-year-old neighbour.
He then fell down stairs, where the neighbour allegedly continued the attack.
Police said they would allege in court the incident was sparked by a complaint over noise coming from the 41-year-old’s apartment.
The 30-year-old man has been charged with murder and assault.
He was refused bail and was set to appear in Burwood Local Court on Friday.
