Nicole Kidman has opened up about her divorce from Keith Urban, saying her second divorce had been a difficult period in her life.
The 59-year-old Aussie actress filed for divorce from the country musician in September 2025, citing irreconcilable differences, with the separation finalised out of court in January.
It came 25 years after her divorce from Tom Cruise, whom she married in 1990.
Kidman said her future is unknown following her divorce from Urban whom she shares two daughters with.
“But at the same time I’m like, ‘OK, I didn’t expect this. I had a different view of what my life was going to be, but this is what it is now,’ she told British Vogue of which she stars on the cover of the September issue.
“You make all these plans and you have all these ideas of what it’s all going to be like and then it’s… not. You have to adjust. You adapt. The future, it’s completely unknown to me right now.”
Asked if it had also been a “scary” time, Kidman said: “There was a point where I was very fearful and deeply vulnerable, which is exposing. And then at the same time [I’m] going, “Well, I can either really not confront it and just curl up, or I can just go forward with an enormous amount of hope.”
It’s been a busy year for Kidman, starring in two major TV series: crime drama Scarpetta and comedy drama Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
She’s also set to reprise her role as Gillian Owens in Practical Magic 2 alongside Sandra Bullock with the movie set for release next month.
Most recently she made a cameo in Perth-raised superstar Troye Sivan’s music video for his new song She’s The Best which came out on Friday.
The new single comes after Sivan revealed his next album also called She’s The Best will be delivered on October 9. The racy cover art sees New York City artist Anna Bloda baring her naked breasts while smoking.
She’s The Best is the follow-up to Sivan’s 2023 album, Something To Give Each Other.
