Actor-producer Sohail Khan has addressed speculation around his dramatic weight loss after taking part in the reality show Alliance, saying there was “no Ozempic, no fat burners” behind the change. His appearance at the show’s wrap-up party had sparked concern among fans, with some wondering if he was facing health issues and others suggesting he may have used weight-loss drugs.

In a recent interview, Sohail said the weight loss happened after he fell ill during the show and had to control his food intake so he could continue participating in tasks. He also said the support he received from fellow contestants helped him stay on the show for five weeks despite being unwell in the first week.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Sohail said, “I got a bit claustrophobic in the first few days, as it was my first time being a part of a reality show. A stomach bug added to that in the first week itself of entering the house. I must tell you, the love and concern, not only about my health, but at any given time by contestants, made me stay in for five weeks, though I was unwell in the first week itself.”

He added that the illness changed the way he ate during the show. “I just needed to control what I was eating as I wanted to be a part of the challenges and be around the new family and friends that I made till the last day, and now for a lifetime. So no Ozempic, no fat burners, I’m only taking pure and loads of love and affection from everyone,” he said.

Weight loss discussed on the show

Sohail’s weight loss had also come up on Alliance when his brother Salman Khan entered the house. During that appearance, Sohail said he had lost 12 kg.

Salman also spoke to Sohail about his emotional state on the show and his past with former wife Seema Sajdeh. He said, “Are you still listening to Seema? My noble brother took all the blame on himself. But I know as a brother, how much he’s trying. I know that emotionally, he’s just taking it, taking it in.”

Sohail and Seema on Alliance

Sohail and Seema ended their marriage in 2022 after more than two decades together. They have continued to share a cordial bond and co-parent their sons, Nirvaan and Yohan. Their relationship became a talking point on the reality show after Seema entered as a wild-card contestant a few weeks ago. The two spoke openly about their past before she was eliminated a few days later.

Earlier on the show, Sohail had said, “I have lived with this beautiful lady for 25 years, and let me admit on national television: if there were any mistakes between us, I take responsibility for them.” He added, “At that time, my work wasn’t going well, so I wasn’t in the right frame of mind. Because of my behaviour, I lost someone I truly loved.”

He also said, “She is the mother of my two beautiful children, so more than love, I have immense respect for Seema. This will always remain a memorable show for me. Though we are separated, this show has brought us back together to talk and confide in one another. There was a missing link between us, and this show helped reconnect it.” On the programme, Seema said their younger son, Yohan, was supporting her, while their elder son, Nirvaan, wanted Sohail to win the competition.

After her exit, Seema told India Today that Sohail was not strong at strategy but did well in other parts of the competition. She said, “Sohail was not great at strategising, but he was strong in physical tasks. Everybody loved him. Games lasted only 30 minutes; the rest of the day was about building alliances, and he did that very well.”

Sohail had earlier said he would not have survived the game without Seema. Seema, however, said, “To be honest, Sohail was finding the game very, very hard, and he is finding captivity very hard because it is out of his comfort zone. I did not really need anyone because I am quite resilient and managed to make great friends. Quite frankly, I had a blast.” She also said the show had not brought them closer again, but had only shown viewers the equation they had already built over the years as co-parents.
