The beloved Phulera universe from Panchayat series is gearing up for its next chapter, and this time, the stakes are higher, the characters are changing, and Pradhan Ji’s life is taking a rather unexpected turn.
Speaking exclusively to India Today, director Deepak Kumar Mishra revealed that Season 5 is currently in the editing stage and could potentially arrive around October-November.
While the exact release date is yet to be finalised, Mishra confirmed that the team is actively working on the next chapter.

He said, “Abhi editing process chal raha hai. Release date exactly final nahi hai. October, November ke around ho sakta hai (The editing process is currently underway. The exact release date has not been finalised yet. It could be around October or November).”
And if fans were expecting Season 5 to simply continue the familiar chaos in Phulera, Mishra promises something more. With the elections now over and Pradhan Ji having lost, the new season will explore how the characters deal with the consequences of the changing circumstances.
He added, “Sabki zindagi aage badhegi. Elections toh ho gaye. Pradhan Ji haar gaye. But uske aage zindagi unki kaise aage badh rahi hai, baaki characters ki zindagi aage kaise badh rahi hai. Ek haara hua Pradhan kaise ab gaon mein chalta hai, phirta hai, kya karta hai (Everyone’s lives will move forward. The elections are over. Pradhan Ji has lost. But the story will explore how his life moves forward after that, and how the lives of the other characters progress as well. How does a Pradhan who has lost an election now move around the village? What does he do)?”
But Pradhan Ji won’t be the only character undergoing a transformation. According to Mishra, every character will have their own growth arc in the upcoming season. “Sabki kahani mein growth hai. Sachiv Ji ki kahani ab aage badhegi.(Everyone’s story will have growth. Sachiv Ji’s story will also move forward),” he said.
That means Abhishek Tripathi aka Sachiv Ji’s journey is far from over, with the upcoming season expected to take his story into a new phase.
However, the biggest revelation came when Mishra was asked if Season 5 would be the final season of Panchayat. His answer was clear: “Nahi, aisa kuch nahi hai (No, it’s nothing like that).”
And just like that, the Panchayat universe may have more chapters left in it.
