NRL player Josh Addo-Carr allegedly drove with cocaine in his system during a late night drive through Sydney’s inner west.

The Parramatta Eels player was stopped for random testing on Enmore Road in Newtown about 11pm on Friday.

NSW Police have confirmed a 31-year-old man allegedly tested positive for cocaine after undergoing a drug test.

An oral fluid sample has been sent for further analysis.

The NRL Integrity Unit have been notified of the allegation, the Eels revealed in a statement released on Saturday afternoon.

“The Parramatta Eels are aware of an alleged incident involving Josh Addo-Carr,” the statement read.

“The Club has notified the NRL Integrity Unit and is co-operating with the appropriate processes, as well as providing welfare support to Josh and his family.

“The Parramatta Eels will not be commenting further until the matter has been finalised.”

No charges have been laid.

The police investigation is ongoing as officers wait for the results of the forensic analysis.

Addo-Carr was sacked by the Canterbury Bulldogs two years ago after returning a positive result to cocaine at a roadside drug test.

He denied taking any illegal substances at the time.
