Hyderabad: Females typically use pepper spray to shield themselves from harm. However, this 20-year-old messenger deliveryman abused it to take a Bangalore customer’s gold chain.

A 38-year-old Miyapur native B Adhinarayana was being delivered Ayurvedic medicines by Shaik Mahaboob Basha, a tribal of Andhra Pradesh.

He rang her bell on July 31. Adhinarayana responded to her question if she was only at apartment, and she responded in the affirmative.

She was left shocked and hurt after he sprayed the cab on her face, stole her golden mangalsutra, which weighed about four tons, and fled with the package.

A case was filed with the Miyapur Police Station, which tracked Basha in Kanigiri, his birthplace and Prakasham area, using CCTV ( closed circuit television ) images.

Additionally, Basha is the subject of two legal cases registered with the Kanigiri Police Station.

The Ayurvedic medications that were intended for shipping were recovered by the authorities. A circumstance has been submitted.

The Bangalore Police advises its citizens to keep their doors open to those who pretend to be couriers or delivery people without proper verification.
