Hyderabad: On August 5, the Upparapally court appointed a trainee officer from the Indian Police Service ( IPS) Uday Krishna Reddy, who is accused of sexually harassing a fellow trainee at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
The Women Safety Wing did detain him on Thursday and Friday and hold him for interrogation.
Reddy was detained on July 28 and kept in administrative prison until August 11. He is now incarcerated in Chanchalguda Central Jail.
Reddy was arrested by Attapur Officers on July 18 following a complaint made by a 30-year-old apprentice IPS agent. Reddy was charged with repeatedly sexually harassing her, allegedly sending her husband a private video to blackmail her, harassment on WhatsApp, stalking, unlawful confinement, physical assault, legal intimidation, and other crimes.
Uday Krishna Reddy is a well-known figure whose transformation from a police officer to passing the UPSC and enlisting in the Indian Police Service ( IPS) was well-known.
The respondent allegedly reached out to Reddy on Instagram after learning of his history, according to the authorities. The victim finally ended the relationship because of Reddy’s alleged harassment, and she married a different man.
Reddy has refuted the allegations, saying that he continued harassing her yet after her wedding.
Additionally, the target claimed that Reddy was dating a different Andhra Pradesh woman who was a single parent. On his advice, she apparently relocated to Hyderabad and was working for a private company.
The victim supposedly met the Andhra female in February and reportedly revealed that Reddy had caused her distress. The Andhra person apparently distanced herself from him as a result.
