After being caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV ) framing a Shiv Sena leader in Punjab’s Ludhiana district, an Assistant Sub-Inspector ( ASI) was suspended.
The Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA ) assigned ASI Sukhdev Singh. SSP ( Khanna Senior Superintendent of Police ) Darpan Ahluwalia mandated the suspension right away, as soon as the video was made public.
After video evidence revealed that contraband was planted on Shiv Sena ( Punjab ) leader Mahant Kashmir Giri, Ahluwalia also launched a departmental inquiry.
Gurjant Singh alias Janta, Giri’s vehicle, was apprehended for allegedly possessing 7.5 grams of cocaine, which contributed to the controversy. Gurjant named the chief during authorities questioning, beginning the staged repression.
When ASI Sukhdev entered the Shiv Sena president’s home around Khatikan Chowk on Saturday evening, October 31, wearing only human clothing, The officer went underneath the bed to house the packet because he didn’t know that a hidden camera was in use.
Soon, a police team, led by City-2 SHO Tarwinder Kumar Bedi and Sadar Station Station Officer ( SHO ) Vijaypal Singh, raided Giri’s home. According to the police, 30 grams of heroin were discovered beneath the bed, which caused the Shiv Sena leader’s fast imprisonment.
Top officials reviewed hidden-camera footage that plainly revealed the ASI’s actions on Saturday evening to unravel the plot. SSP Darpan Ahluwalia ordered Giri’s quick release from the scenario after watching the video.
SSP Ahluwalia dissolved ASI Sukhdev Singh on Sunday, November 1, and established a Special Investigation Team ( SIT ) led by an officer of SP rank to examine the timeline and examine the actions of other police personnel.
