Iconic UK band Radiohead have put their faith in WA rock fans, announcing a mega-run of four shows at RAC Arena in mid-2027 to kick off their first Australian shows in 15 years.
The Creep hitmakers will play a total of 16 dates across May and June, including six nights in Melbourne, followed by another six in Sydney.
The tour announcement also included a single additional Asian city, with Saitama in Japan to host five shows in June.
Launching their Aussie jaunt in Perth with appearances on May 3, 4, 6, and 7, Radiohead will become the first musical act since P!nk in 2018 to perform across four separate nights at the RAC Arena during a single tour.
Forming in 1985, the band comprises members Thom Yorke as singer-guitarist, bassist Colin Greenwood, guitarist Ed O’Brien, drummer Phil Selway, and guitarist-keyboardist Jonny Greenwood.
As legends of the stage, they have become recognised for their immersive and transcendent live shows that are said to feel more like spiritual experiences.
According to the band’s local promoter Frontier Touring, they will perform “in the round”, referring to a stage that is positioned centrally in a venue to maximise the crowd’s view from multiple sides.
There will not be a support act in any city.
The band underwent a seven-year touring hiatus in 2018, partly triggered by the death of frontman Yorke’s wife in 2016, admitting he had not allowed himself time to grieve.
Radiohead’s most recent run of shows came via a 20-date tour across Europe in late 2025 that saw the band travel to just five cities.
Due to the rarity in which Radiohead have performed live over the past decade, fans across the world have been torn by their limited travel plans.
“Thanks for actually coming to Perth!” one local said, in response to the band’s social media tour announcement.
“Not a single New Zealand show? But 16 australia shows? You can’t be fr,” another said.
“Please please please America 2026,” one more wrote.
Radiohead’s last Australian appearance came in 2012, which followed their previous shows in 2004.
Their last Perth performances were in 1998.
As one of the most influential and enduring bands in music, the band’s debut album Pablo Honey set the tone for their global success in 1993, with their enduring mega hit Creep having surpassed three billion streams on Spotify.
Radiohead have claimed three Grammy awards from a total of 18 nominations, including wins for Best Alternative Music Album across three separate occasions, with Ok Computer (1998), Kid A (2001), and In Rainbows (2009).
Their latest of nine studio albums was released in 2016, titled A Moon Shaped Pool.
Aussie fans will be given access to purchase tickets via a registration process which is now open now, and set to close at 3pm WST, Thursday September 10.
A maximum of four tickets per person per show city will be allocated.
General admission standing floor tickets start from $199 in Perth, with various options available, including a Fast Track Status ticket worth $649.
With a bumper end to 2026 at RAC Arena set to unfold, the venue is set to host Alex Warren and Jason Derulo in September, Hans Zimmer and Zara Larsson in October, Tame Impala and Hilary Duff in October, and Lily Allen, Charlie Puth, Khalid, The Wiggles and Boyz II Men in November.
