The race to become the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has entered its final stage, with the selection committee set to recommend three names to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The Trust said the final round of interviews was completed at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya on August 11 and 12. The Trust will make the final appointment after considering the three names recommended by the selection committee.

FROM 5,585 APPLICATIONS TO 16 FINALISTS
The selection process began with 5,585 applications for the CEO post. Of these, 3,877 applicants submitted detailed CVs.
Candidates were assessed on several parameters, including management skills, experience in handling large events and crowds, individual capabilities, language skills, vision and strategic thinking.
Following the initial screening, 1,580 applications and submissions were evaluated in detail. Around 111 candidates were then shortlisted for online interactions. The online stage assessed communication skills, professional experience, personality, vision, leadership ability and technical understanding.
The field was subsequently reduced to 16 candidates for face-to-face interviews in Ayodhya.
ARMY VETERANS, FORMER IAS AND IPS OFFICERS IN RACE
The 16 finalists include experienced professionals from defence, bureaucracy, the corporate and industrial sectors, education and information technology.
According to the official press note, the shortlisted candidates are between 50 and 70 years old and have significant professional achievements and leadership experience. The pool includes retired military officers, former IAS and IPS officers, and senior professionals from government and the private sector.
The diversity of the shortlist reflects the responsibilities expected of the first CEO, who will be required to oversee a large and complex institution serving a huge number of devotees.
The role is expected to involve administration, pilgrim management, security coordination, staff management, technology, institutional operations and long-term planning.
THREE-MEMBER COMMITTEE CONDUCTED INTERVIEWS
The search committee comprises retired Justice Pramod Kohli, Lieutenant General (retired) VK Chaturvedi and nuclear scientist Dr Suresh Haware.
The committee brings experience from the judiciary, defence, science, administration and institutional leadership.
It will now undertake an overall assessment of the candidates before submitting a panel of three names to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The Trust will then select the final candidate from the three-member panel.
The appointment is expected to play a key role in strengthening the administrative structure of the Ram Mandir as the institution expands its operations and prepares to manage growing numbers of devotees.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said the selection process was being conducted on the principles of merit-based selection, institutional excellence and transparency.
