Rashmika Mandanna had a clear answer when the conversation turned to first love at the Cocktail 2 trailer launch. Asked about her “pehla pyaar (first love)”, the actor said she was “very happy being married right now” and saw no reason to look back, a view she reiterated when co-star Kriti Sanon further quizzed her about whether she still remembered her first love.

The conversation took place on June 2 during the trailer launch of Cocktail 2, attended by lead actors Rashmika Mandanna, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
During the media interaction, the cast was asked about their “pehla pyaar“. Responding first, Rashmika said, “I’m very happy being married right now, so I don’t think I should backtrack there.”
When Kriti followed up by asking if she still remembered her first love, Rashmika replied, “Why? I’m very happy here, now, (in the) present.”
Kriti also shared her thoughts on the idea of first love and said, “Jab hota hai shayad pyaar hai, phir lagta hai shayad nahi tha. (When it happens, it feels like love, and then later on it doesn’t). It happens.”
On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor said that not everyone remembers their first love and that what truly matters is one’s last love.
According to the actor, people often do not fully understand what love is when they experience it for the first time. He added that real love is finding someone you can settle down with, spend your life with, and accept for who they are.
Rashmika’s comments come months after her wedding to actor Vijay Deverakonda. The two actors first met while working on Geetha Govindam (2018) and later reunited for Dear Comrade (2019). After being together for eight years, the couple got engaged in January before getting married on February 26 in Udaipur.
The wedding celebrations included a traditional Telugu ceremony followed by a Kodava wedding at ITC Mementos, Udaipur. The couple later hosted a reception for friends from the film industry in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Cocktail 2 is directed by Homi Adajania and serves as a follow-up to the 2012 film Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.
The sequel starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, is set to release in theatres on June 19.
