The team behind Hanuman Ansh, the devotional biopic on Neem Karoli Baba, appears to be facing disagreements, with director Dr Vishal Chaturvedi and producer Namrata G Singh issuing an official statement clarifying the film’s rights, publicity and distribution arrangements.
In a statement released on Monday through Swambhu Media Network, Namrata and Vishal identified themselves as the Executive Directors and said they were the authorised representatives for the film’s public relations, marketing, awards and partnerships. The statement also cautioned against individuals claiming to represent the film or independently handling its rights.

The note stated, “Hanuman Ansh has one authorised channel.” It further clarified that all rights related to the film, including theatrical, streaming, broadcast, music, gaming and licensing, are jointly held and must be dealt with according to agreements signed between the producers.
The statement read, “Namrata G Singh and Dr Vishal Chaturvedi are solely authorised to direct public relations, marketing, awards and partnerships on behalf of the Company. All day-to-day coordination with partners, platforms and media is carried out through them.”
It also warned that no individual producer could independently make business arrangements concerning the film. Any such dealings, it said, would not be recognised by the company or the producers.
The makers further said that anyone, including cast and crew members, wishing to speak publicly or represent Hanuman Ansh at interviews, podcasts, promotional events or other public platforms must first seek confirmation through the film’s official communication channels.
The statement added that the film’s credits would remain as mentioned in its official credits and that the company would take necessary steps to protect its rights and interests.
However, the note also carried a disclaimer clarifying that the film’s four producers are Namrata G Singh, Dr Vishal Chaturvedi, Ragini Sona and Anupriya Nagar. It stated that the rights are jointly held and that decisions concerning publicity, awards, partnerships and rights in India and overseas require the approval of all four producers under the production agreement.
What’s happening within the Hanuman Ansh team?
The official statement comes amid reports of disagreements among the film’s core team. According to an earlier report by Screen, differences had reportedly emerged over the film’s publicity, with concerns that one producer was receiving more attention than the others.
These alleged differences have also raised questions about the future of the Hanuman Ansh franchise. The team has not made any official announcement about its proposed second instalment.
Producer Anupriya Nagar, who joined the project when it was already in post-production, had earlier spoken about the film being planned as a trilogy. In an interview, she had said that the team would come together for the second part soon.
However, sources now suggest that the producers may have different plans for telling Neem Karoli Baba’s story.
Hanuman Ansh’s box office success
Despite the reported differences behind the scenes, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the biggest box office successes of 2026. Made on a reported budget of Rs 2 crore, the film has collected Rs 452.86 crore worldwide, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Directed by Dr Vishal Chaturvedi, the film tells the story of Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharajji, whose devotees include people across India and abroad.
Released in theatres on August 7, the film’s OTT release details are yet to be officially announced.
