Rob Reiner has won a posthumous Emmy for his performance in The Bear, nine months after his death.
The late US actor and director was found stabbed to death at his Los Angeles home in December, alongside his wife, Michele Reiner.
Reiner was honoured with the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series gong at the Creative Art Emmys, which took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
The late star and filmmaker saw off competition from Michael J. Fox, Brett Goldstein, Hamish Linklater, Christopher McDonald and Connor Storrie to win the accolade.
After Reiner’s victory was announced, the audience gave the late actor a lengthy standing ovation. It was Reiner’s third Emmys award.
Last month, Reiner’s son Jake Reiner told how he feels “anger and rage” over the deaths of his parents.
The pair’s youngest son, Nick Reiner, was subsequently charged with their murders, and his older brother Jake admitted he will “never understand” the tragedy.
Speaking to ABC7 Los Angeles, Jake said: “(Nick)’s in jail. It’s like, I physically lost my parents, and then Nick was arrested. Now it’s just me and Romy, and we have to navigate this by ourselves essentially.
“For me, it manifests into anger. It manifests into rage, into how unfair this was, how I didn’t get a say in what happened.
“I didn’t get to stop it from happening. I had no choice in the matter. I just have to accept the reality of it. And to me, that is just one of the most infuriating parts of all of this.
“I’ll never understand. I don’t care how it’s explained to me. I don’t care what facts come out. I will never understand why this happened.”
