Ryan Reynolds isn’t planning a party to celebrate his 50th birthday later this year because he gets “enough attention”.
The Deadpool star is set to mark the milestone on October 23 but Ryan has insisted he’s not going to be organised a blow-out bash because he’s not a big fan of birthdays.
He told PEOPLE: “I don’t like birthdays. I mean, I’m fine with it. I don’t bemoan a birthday, but I’m not like: ‘Hey, let’s have a huge party for me.’
“I’m good. I get enough attention. I was just on a red carpet. This is plenty.”
Ryan went on to reveal his big day is in the middle of “Birthday Alley” as three of his children with wife Blake Lively all celebrate between September and December and the couple’s wedding anniversary is on September 9.
He said: “I’m in Birthday Alley. My kids, we have about four of our family members all just back-to-back to back-to-back. It’s Birthday Alley, and it goes right on into Christmas. Ceaseless.
“Basically, yeah, to my 50th birthday. I mean, crazy. I’m mostly breathing in helium all day, filling balloons, emptying balloons, filling more balloons. That is Birthday Alley.”
The couple’s daughter Inez turns 10 in September while Betty will be seven in October and their eldest child James turns 12 in December. Their other son Olin will be four in February.
Blake celebrates her birthday on August 25 and Ryan previously compared his wife’s big day to the Superbowl.
In a post on Instagram to make her 39th birthday this year, he wrote: “August 25th is this family’s Super Bowl. Happy Birthday to the very best human I know.
“You’re not just another courageous and deeply kind genius. You’re also unreasonably cute. I know how lucky I am that you were born. Every time I’ve ever hit my head, it’s YOUR life that flashes before my eyes.”
Reynolds previously joked he would be celebrating his big birthday by undergoing cosmetic surgery.
In an interview with with Entertainment Tonight, Ryan was told: “You have a big milestone birthday coming up this October,”and he replied: “I do. I can say it: 50!”
He then pointed to his face and joked: “This is scaffolding. I had my lips done this morning and at lunch.”
