Multiple sheep have allegedly been rounded up into a holding pen and deliberately injured at a rural property in Canberra’s south.
Police allege a group of people entered a property behind a pine forest near the Monaro Highway at Tuggeranong, in Canberra’s south, on Wednesday night.
Police believe dogs were used to round up eight sheep and move them into a pen where they were deliberately injured.
Two sheep allegedly died from the severity of their injuries.
It is also alleged a residence on the property was also entered and ransacked causing a large amount of disruption inside the premises.
Police are looking for a late 1990s, early 2000s sedan seen in the area on the eastern side of the Monaro Highway between the paintball facility and Johnson Drive roundabout on Wednesday evening.
“ACT Policing takes all reports of animal cruelty seriously and is seeking public assistance regarding this incident,” a police spokesman said.
Police urged anyone with information about this incident or who saw anything unusual in the area to contact Crime Stoppers.
