‘Significant disruptions’ expected in Sydney peak hour train chaos

Peak hour train commuters are facing “significant disruptions” as crews urgently repair overhead wiring at a key Sydney train station, with delays on almost every line expected to continue for the rest of Friday.

Almost every suburban Sydney and intercity train is expected to be impacted due to urgent repairs on overhead wiring at Redfern station, one stop south of Central station.

“Travel times will be longer than usual,” Transport for NSW warned.

“Delays and gaps in service are expected for the rest of the day. Stops may change at short notice.”
