After an extraordinary opening weekend that rewrote Hollywood box office history in India, the film witnessed its first significant weekday slowdown on Monday. Despite the expected dip, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to dominate cinemas and is now closing in on the Rs 350 crore gross milestone in India.
According to early estimates, the film collected an estimated Rs 23.80 crore nett (gross minus taxes) on Day 5 across 16,874 shows nationwide.
The Monday haul marked a 69.4 per cent decline from Sunday’s massive Rs 77.75 crore nett collection. While the drop appears steep, it follows a record-breaking opening weekend that saw the superhero spectacle smash multiple box office records.
With its latest earnings, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now collected an estimated Rs 281.75 crore nett in India across 86,780 shows, translating to a gross collection of Rs 336.91 crore. The film is now on track to cross the Rs 350-crore gross mark and could even touch Rs 400 crore by the end of its first week.

The Tamil version contributed around Rs 1.50 crore nett, while the Telugu version added Rs 1 crore nett. The Malayalam and Kannada dubbed versions together earned approximately Rs 50 lakh nett.
The superhero blockbuster is expected to receive another boost later this week with its IMAX release on August 7. The premium large-format rollout is likely to push up average ticket prices and further strengthen the film’s box office performance.
With limited competition from major Hollywood releases in the coming weeks and sustained audience demand worldwide, industry analysts believe Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains well positioned to continue its march towards the USD 1.5 billion (approximately Rs 13,000 crore) global milestone.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker embracing life as New York’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man after the world forgets his identity. The film stars Tom Holland alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo.
