A deleted clip from The Traitors 2 has brought a fresh exchange into focus, with socialite Shalini Passi questioning actor Mallika Sherawat’s claim that she was wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress on the show. The clip, released by the makers on YouTube on Tuesday, shows Mallika pointing out her green outfit to fellow contestants and saying she had picked a Dolce & Gabbana look for the day.

The moment came after the first three episodes of the Prime Video series had already delivered eliminations, confrontations and the reveal of a traitor.
In the deleted scene, Shalini is seen discussing Mallika’s claim with Shweta Tiwari, Rhea Chakraborty and Rida Tharana, and saying she did not believe the dress was from the luxury label. According to Shalini, she noticed the brand while helping Mallika adjust her microphone. She then questioned whether the outfit was actually from Dolce & Gabbana.
“Just a week ago, I wore a green and gold dress of Dolce, and it is not like this. I went to adjust her mic and saw the brand. She is lying. I have worn these dresses since I was 17-18. I have custom-made and I can send you pictures. I have worn a Versace couture too and an Elie Saab dress. This is not it,” Shalini said.
Rhea then recalled another fashion conversation she had with Mallika before the show. She said, “Before coming here, I asked her what brand is O’Polly? Everyone is wearing it. It’s nice. She said, it’s very tacky. She said, it’s a very glittery dress.” Shalini then added, “The fitting is bad.”

Mallika had stood out in the early episodes through a series of comments and exchanges. The actor claimed that she shopped in Paris for the show and went ahead to flaunt clothes from luxury labels such as Gucci.
When comedian Aaditya Kulshreshtha, also known as Kullu, asked her whether she had ever had a crush on someone, Mallika replied, “Everyone has had a crush on me. Tom Cruise has had a crush on me recently. I’m not lying. If I had a phone, I would’ve shown you his videos.” When he asked what kind of videos Tom sent her, she added, “No, when we were partying together and all. He’s fabulous.”
Another notable exchange involved Rhea. After Rhea defended a contestant who had commented on Mallika’s comeback, saying, “I don’t think that was something so bad,” Mallika responded, “Oh, this is your comeback? Who is he to comment on that, Rhea? Is this game about comebacks? I would also say, ‘Oh Rhea, you were in jail. This is a big comeback for you.’”
Mallika was also shown in a conversation with Parul Gulati about staying calm in the game. When Parul questioned her relaxed demeanour while others were worried about being “murdered” by the traitors, Mallika said, “Wo main darr aapse kyu share karu, aap meri close friend toh hai nahi (Why should I share that fear with you? You aren’t exactly a close friend of mine).”
Shalini, on the other hand, seems to have found an ally in Mallika, forming a trio with Mallika and Shweta.

The Traitors 2 premiered on Prime Video on August 13. Karan Johar returned as host for the second season, with 21 contestants entering the game this time. The opening episodes have already seen the elimination of Munawar Faruqui and Dalip Tahil, and the exposure of Harman Singha as a traitor.
