Tom Cruise is keen to make a movie with Taylor Swift because she would be a “brilliant” director.
The Hollywood superstar was one of the famous faces who attended the pop star’s lavish wedding to Travis Kelce in New York City in July and he was recently pictured sitting next to her at an NFL game – and Tom has now admitted he would love to work with Taylor if she ever decided to branch out into the film industry.
Speaking to BuzzFeed UK at the London premiere of his new film Digger on Tuesday (22.09.26), he explained: “It would be amazing to work with her on anything.
“I make movies, you know, let’s go make a movie. I think she’s such a talent in anything she does. She’s absolutely brilliant. She’s a brilliant writer. Brilliant …
“Her ability, you know, we were talking about … if she ever decided to direct, she could be a director of feature films.
“I know she does her videos and she does a beautiful job.”
It comes after Tom revealed Taylor was “schooling” him on football during a Kansas City Chiefs game last week.
The Hollywood actor was seen sitting next to the pop singer as she cheered on her new husband Travis Kelce, whose team took on the Denver Broncos at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri – and Tom explained Taylor was talking him through the game as his football knowledge is a bit rusty.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host asked him: “When the biggest movie star in the world is sitting next to the biggest artist in the world, what do you talk about?”
Tom then said: “She was schooling me on football … For real. She was bringing the football. First of all, she’s a genius. I’ve been following her since she was a kid. Everybody there, all their friends, they’re a beautiful couple and magical in their own right … and everybody there in that booth.
“I hadn’t been to a football game since pre-COVID, where I was working and everything. So to get to hang out there and have that moment, it was a lot … She knows her stuff.”
Taylor previously admitted she didn’t know much about football until she started dating NFL player Travis and Tom revealed the singer had spoken to him about being taught the rules by her now-husband.
Tom shared: “She knew nothing about football when she met Travis … She said: ‘He’s so patient’. I said: ‘I’m sure he was.’ I think everybody would be very patient [with her] … She knows [now].”
The movie star added the pair also talked about movies and music during the game and he enjoys her sense of humour.
He said of Taylor: “[We talked about] music and movies. She’s so funny. She’s got such a great sense of humour. A brilliant writer also, by the way. Brilliant musician and director. Very skilled.”
