A teen and a young man have been arrested hours after a teenage boy died from suspected stab wounds in Melbourne’s north.
The 15-year-old Mickleham boy was found with serious injuries outside Craigieburn Community Hospital on Lygon Drive, Craigieburn, about 7.50pm on Wednesday.
A staff member at the hospital performed CPR on the teen, but the victim died at the scene.
In an update, police said they arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man in Pascoe Vale about 5.30am on Thursday.
“They will be interviewed by Homicide Squad detectives. The investigation is continuing,” police said in a statement.
The crime scene was cleared before 8am on Thursday morning as patients arrived at the Craigieburn Community Hospital in cold, windy weather.
Sand, presumably used to mop up blood, covered a small patch of bitumen at the entrance to the medical centre carpark, where the slain boy was found with critical injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, with footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
