Two people have died and a child is fighting for life after a crash in remote Western Australia.
Police said “two vehicles, one of which was towing a caravan, collided, causing the caravan to roll” on the North Western Coastal Highway in Hamelin Pool, about 260km south of Exmouth, about 1.30pm AEST on Monday.
A 12-year-old suffered critical injuries in the crash and was flown to hospital in Perth for treatment.
Josh Osgood, who drove past the scene shortly after the crash, said it was a “sad sight”.
He told The West Australian he hoped “the kid pulls through” after seeing “the guys with a medical bag running over to help”.
“The vehicles were in a million bits,” he said.
