A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district celebrated his pet buffalo Basanti’s fourth birthday with balloons, cakes and a birthday cap.
Rajesh Kumar Verma organised the celebration for Basanti, as he decorated a spot with colourful balloons and placed two cakes on a table.
Basanti was also made to wear a ‘Happy Birthday’ cap and a flower garland. The cake was cut in the presence of villagers, who clapped and chanted, “Happy Birthday Basanti.”

The buffalo was then lovingly fed bananas and cake by those attending the celebration.
Rajesh’s gesture has drawn attention on social media, with a video of Basanti’s birthday being widely shared. People have praised his affection for the animal and the bond he shares with his pet buffalo.
