A throwback clip of Ajay Devgn eating raw fish with his bare hands during his high-seas adventure with Bear Grylls has resurfaced on social media. In the clip from his 2021 appearance on the adventure reality show Into The Wild With Bear Grylls, the Drishyam: The Conclusion actor opened up about his phobia of touching food while eating.

Addressing his discomfort while facing survival challenges in the clip shared by Grylls on Instagram, Devgn revealed his discomfort with using hands.

He said, “So I have this problem that when I eat, I really can’t touch food. So, I eat with a fork and knife because there is some kind of phobia that my hands will smell of it all day. So it is very difficult for me to use my hands while eating.”

Reminding the actor that cutlery was unavailable on the island, Grylls said, “Life is all about doing new things and being out of our comfort zone, and survival is most definitely about doing the difficult.”

Handing a fresh catch to the actor, he added, “You got to stay alive, you got to eat.”

Looking directly at the camera before taking a bite, Devgn said, “This is difficult. I am holding raw fish that I have to eat. See, Kajol, I am eating. What you said, I am eating this for my survival.”

Into The Wild With Bear Grylls is Discovery India’s popular survival franchise where host Bear Grylls takes top Indian celebrities on unscripted wilderness adventures. The franchise has featured high-profile guests including Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Vicky Kaushal.
