The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and reopened the application window for eligible candidates who could not register during the earlier phase.
According to the latest public notice issued by CBSE, the CTET 2026 application window will remain open from August 25 to September 1, 2026. Candidates who have already submitted their applications successfully do not need to register again.

The board said the decision follows a recent Supreme Court judgment stressing that eligible teachers should be given a reasonable opportunity to meet the statutory requirement of obtaining the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification.
The official notice reads, ‘In view of the aforesaid and in the larger interest of candidates, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to all eligible candidates who could not avail themselves of the earlier application window by opening the online application portal from 25.08.2026 to 01.09.2026.’

CTET 2026: STEPS TO APPLY
Candidates can follow these steps to apply for CTET 2026:
Step 1: Visit the official website, ctet.nic.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link that reads, ‘Apply/Login: CTET SEP 2026 ( Online application date extended till 01.09.2026)’
Step 3: A new page will appear on the screen.
Step 4: Click on the registration link.

The application process for the 22nd edition of CTET was earlier conducted from May 11 to June 10, 2026. Candidates are advised to check the official website for further updates.
