Firefighters launched an operation to contain the blaze and eventually succeeded in bringing it under control.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The exact reason for the fire could not be ascertained immediately.

The Karkardooma Court is one of the major judicial complexes in East Delhi.

INCIDENT DAYS AFTER DEADLY DELHI FIRE

The fire incident at the Karkardooma Court complex came days after a massive blaze at a hotel in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar claimed the lives of 21 people, mostly foreigners.

The investigation into the deadly blaze has, so far, led to the arrests of the establishment’s owner and a cook employed there.

According to the FIR into the matter, the hotel, named Flourish Stay B&B, was operating 28 rooms despite having permission for only six.

It also points to alleged fire safety violations and unauthorised structural alterations at the hotel, which was licenced to run as a Bed-and-Breakfast.

While forensic and police investigations are yet to establish the exact cause of the blaze, preliminary findings have indicated that the fire may have originated in or around the kitchen area.

Forensic teams have collected various samples, including burnt wiring and electronic equipment, to determine whether a short circuit, electrical overload or other technical failure may have sparked the fire.
