Hyderabad’s DA situation is the subject of a 16-point search by the Telangana ACB.

Hyderabad: On Thursday, July 2, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous searches at 16 locations after Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police ( DSP), Police Computer Services (PCS), was charged with allegedly possessing assets that were disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The ACB filed the case under Sections 13 ( 1 ) ( b ) and 13 ( 2 ) of the 2018 Amendment to the Prevention of Corruption Act. At the officer’s house and 15 other locations connected to his family, friends, Bengali brothers, and affiliates, searches were conducted.

Officials discovered documents relating to a number of high-value properties during the raids, including a Gachibowli even, a three-storey home with a penthouse and a level in Telecom Nagar, and two Tellapur residences. Additionally, investigators discovered records for agricultural estates in Sangareddy, Vikarabad, and Karnataka as well as information for commercial qualities in Manikonda and some empty plots in Bangalore, Patancheru, and Vikarabad.

Additionally, the searches resulted in the arrest of around Rs 43.60 crore in cash, including Rs 3.60 crore from the residence of the DSP and Rs 40 lakh from an admitted benami. About 2 pounds of golden ornaments, 20 kg of silver items, and bank accounts worth about Rs. 191 lakh were recovered by officials.

The ACB predicts that the immovable properties ‘ real market value will likely be significantly higher than their documented value.

Additionally, the Excise Department was informed that the officer had returned 23 international alcohol containers and that it needed to be investigated.
