Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 57th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi on August 8. During the convocation, PM Modi will also be inaugurating Param Pragya, an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility at the institute’s Sonipat campus.
The Prime Minister will attend the IIT Delhi convocation as the chief guest at 11 am.

OVER 3,000 STUDENTS TO RECEIVE IIT DELHI DEGREES
The 57th IIT Delhi convocation will see more than 3,000 students receive their degrees across programmes, with 587 PhD scholars among the graduating cohort.
The institute’s highest honours will be awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance.
The President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and Perfect Ten Gold Medals recognise outstanding achievement across different academic categories.
With the Prime Minister addressing the graduating batch and inaugurating a new AI-focused supercomputing facility, the IIT Delhi convocation will bring together two key themes — academic excellence and India’s push to expand advanced technology and research capabilities.
The Prime Minister will also present IIT Delhi’s highest academic honours to meritorious students during the ceremony. These include the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and Perfect Ten Gold Medals.
The supercomputing facility is expected to strengthen IIT Delhi’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, data science, advanced computing and interdisciplinary research. It will support computationally intensive research and provide infrastructure for work involving emerging technologies.
The inauguration comes at a time when AI and high-performance computing are becoming increasingly central to research across engineering, science and other disciplines.
The facility is also expected to contribute to IIT Delhi’s broader research ecosystem by enabling researchers and students to undertake projects requiring substantial computing resources.
