Actor Maniesh Paul’s mother, Urmil Paul, died on Wednesday in Delhi. She was 76. The family has not disclosed the cause of her death. Confirming the news, Paul’s team said in a statement, “With great grief, we regret to inform you that actor Maniesh Paul lost his 77 year old mother today in Delhi. We request you to please pray for the departed soul. May she rest in eternal peace.”

The actor often spoke fondly of his mother and regularly shared glimpses of their bond on social media. In 2022, while wishing her good health on her birthday, he thanked her for shaping his outlook on life and wrote, “Thanks for teaching me to be BINDAAS!!”
Urmil Paul is survived by her husband, Jagmohan Paul, and their children, Maniesh, Jyoti Paul Mohan and Vivek Paul.
Meanwhile, Maniesh Paul began his career as a radio jockey and video jockey before becoming one of Indian television’s most popular hosts. He has acted in television shows such as Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi, Ssshhhh… Phir Koi Hai and Ghar Ghar Mein, and made his lead film debut with Mickey Virus after appearing in films including Tees Maar Khan.
Over the years, he has hosted several reality shows, including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Chhote Ustaad, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Dance India Dance Li’l Masters and Nach Baliye. He was most recently seen in the film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur.
