Melbourne Demons youngster Andy Moniz-Wakefield will miss the rest of the 2026 season after rupturing his ACL in the last quarter against GWS on Sunday.

The 22-year-old came off late in the fourth quarter, with scans confirming he had done his ACL for the second time.

“This is disappointing news for Andy, particularly given the work he put in over the pre-season to return from his previous knee injury. We all really feel for him,” Melbourne’s general manager of football Alan Richardson said.

“Right now, we will make sure Andy is well supported through this tough time.”

Moniz-Wakefield ruptured his ACL, MCL and PCL in an incident in a pre-season game in 2025.

He had 10 disposals before leaving the field, after impressing in the VFL the week prior.
