Mumbai: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio referred to the recent demonstrations against the Election Commission as an “internal social problem” on Wednesday, October 21.

Rubio’s allusion to the criticism of the protests by UN experts, who is already in India on an established visit, was also dismissed.

Rubio also claimed that the UN’s “experts are the irony” in a launch released by the Department of State on Wednesday.

It’s a social issue in the home. I won’t participate in their political affairs. This is politics in existence. In response to a problem about protests from the opposition and students in India, he responded by saying,” They have primaries here, so I’m not going to argue on their domestic political things.”

Rubio claimed that protests occur daily in the US and reflect the political discourse and divergences of mind.

” Every day in the United States, rallies occur. People react to protests, but I’m not talking about the unrest like what you’re seeing in Europe, where people are vandalizing, breaking into things, and burning down properties. He continued,” I’m not talking about that.”

” But in many way, the fact that people are out there expressing themselves- I’m never talking about India, in any other country in the world- is a sign that this is a nation with political conversation and so forth, and differences of opinion,” he said.

We won’t make any comments on social issues inside the organization. Rubio argued that Indians should make their own decisions and maneuver through it.

More than 20 UN human rights experts in Geneva expressed concern over the “repeatedly heavy-handed police answer” to quiet youth-led marches in the capital on Tuesday.
