Samsung took a swipe at Apple after the iPhone maker unveiled its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, with the South Korean tech giant reminding users that it has been making foldable smartphones for years.

Apple had a busy night in Cupertino on Wednesday as it unveiled five new products across its iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods lineups. The highlights included the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the much-talked-about iPhone Duo marked Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market. Apple also launched the AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.

Meanwhile, Samsung Mobile US was quick to react to the launch, posting a series of jabs at Apple on X.

Taking aim at the iPhone Duo, Samsung wrote, “Making us wait? Fine. We’ll be over here, folding 3 ways.”

Samsung, which has long offered foldable smartphones including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, also posted, “Let us know when you’re done reheating our leftovers.”

In another post, Samsung appeared to mock Apple for presenting its foldable phone as a new category, saying, “It’s feeling very familiar. Is this a Sims sequel.”

The company also posted, “So far, so same. #ItsTimeToSwitch,” while another post read, “Accessories? It’s giving condiments and no food. #ItsTimeToSwitch.”

Samsung also took aim at Apple’s other new products, saying, “Not the bed side clock. It’s giving groundhog day.”

It then summed up its reaction to the launch in another post: “Was there range? No. Was it exciting? No. Did it happen? Yes. #ItsTimeToSwitch.”

Samsung Canada joined the trolling with a short clip of its foldable phone, captioned, “It’s entirely new, and at the same time, remarkably familiar.” The video featured the line, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

Apple’s Surprise and Shine event at Apple Park featured the usual packed venue, cameras and tech creators, including Marques Brownlee and IShowSpeed. Memes also began circulating online soon after the launch.
