According to the police reports, the capsule truck hit a motorcycle carrying two employees of the Sandi government liquor shop as they were returning home after finishing work.

The victims were identified as 34-year-old Satyaprakash Sonwani, a resident of Khorsinala and 25-year-old Gopi Kishan Adil, a resident of Sonpuri village. Both were travelling to Baloda Bazar when the accident occurred.

Preliminary information suggests the speeding truck struck the motorcycle with such force that it dragged the two riders and their bike for around 200 metres before overturning a short distance away. Both victims sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the community health centre in Palari, where doctors declared them dead.

The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Palari police have registered a case, launched an investigation and begun a search to trace the absconding driver. Officials are also probing the exact circumstances that led to the crash.

ANOTHER ACCIDENT REPORTED IN THE SAME AREA

In a separate incident, two cars collided at the busy Garden Chowk in Baloda Bazar town after one of the vehicles attempted to cross a break in the central divider. According to local reports, the car emerging from Kamal Colony entered the main road and collided with another vehicle approaching from the direction of the BJP office.

Although no serious injuries were reported in the second accident, both cars were badly damaged, and the collision triggered a traffic jam at the busy intersection. Police from Kotwali police station reached the spot, cleared the congestion and restored the flow of traffic. An investigation into the incident is underway.
